About CauseAlert
Making court listings accessible to everyone
Our mission
CauseAlert was founded on a simple belief: knowing when a case is listed for hearing should not require hours of manual searching. Every day, HM Courts & Tribunals Service publishes thousands of court listings across England and Wales. We aggregate, structure, and deliver that information so solicitors, barristers, journalists, and members of the public can stay informed — automatically.
Why trust CauseAlert
Official HMCTS data
Every listing is sourced directly from cause lists published by HM Courts & Tribunals Service, the official body responsible for court administration in England and Wales.
Updated daily
Listings are refreshed each day as courts publish new cause lists, so you always have the most current hearing information available.
Open justice
We believe justice must be seen to be done. CauseAlert supports the principle of open justice by making publicly available court listings easier to find and follow.
Built by legal professionals
Our team combines legal qualifications with engineering expertise. We understand the workflows of solicitors, barristers, and court staff because we have lived them.
How our data works
Each day, HMCTS publishes cause lists for courts across England and Wales. CauseAlert automatically collects these listings, extracts structured data — case references, hearing times, courtrooms, judges, and parties — and makes it searchable. When a listing matches one of your alerts, we notify you by email or SMS so you never miss a hearing.
